| Vern Swaback is an architect and planner and has earned the right to be called one of our most distinguished visionaries. An editorial in an Australian paper said his writings read "like a scream from the heart for a more humane manner of development." The Washington Post carried an article by Neil Pierce about Vern's work entitled, "A Community and Global Vision From An Arizona Architect."
Mr. Swaback first came to Arizona to become Frank Lloyd Wright's youngest apprentice. He served with the Wright organization for more than two decades before founding what is now Swaback Partners. Vern's 40-person firm includes architects, planners, and interior designers.

Mr. Swaback is a registered architect in 16 states from California to Florida and has the distinction of having been elected into the College of Fellows by both the American Institute of Architects and the American Institute of Certified Planners.
Swaback is Chairman of the Board of the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation, a Trustee of Taliesin Preservation, Inc. He is president of Cattletrack Arts and Preservation, Vice-President of StarShine Academy and serves on the Board of ThinkAZ, an Arizona- based center for public policy. He has served as a Board member of American National Bank, the Phoenix Economic Growth Council, Greater Phoenix Leadership, the Scottsdale Arts Collection Advisory Board and the Scottsdale Redevelopment Board. He served as co-chair of the city's Desert Preservation Task Force and for two years as director of Scottsdale Visioning. He has appeared in a variety of television documentaries regarding architecture and planning and is the author of "Production Dwellings-An Opportunity in Excellence"; A Guide to Desert Landscaping; Designing the Future; The Custom Home - Dreams, Desire and Design; and The Creative Community, Designing for Life.

Swaback Partners is pleased to announce that Katherine L. Pullen has joined our staff as Studio V's Director of Design. Katherine comes to Swaback Partners and Studio V with over 16 years of interior design experience in the areas of residential, hospitality and commercial involvement. Additionally, Katherine holds a real estate brokers license here in the state of Arizona.
She played a key role in the interior design of hospitality projects affiliated with ILX, a vacation club ownership company based in Phoenix including Los Abrigados Resort in Sedona, Arizona and the Cragg's Lodge in Estes Park, Colorado. |
| For the last several years, Katherine has been solely involved with Robson Communities, a well-respected active adult home builder including high-end model home merchandising, residential, multi-family, and commercial interior design in multiple master planned communities in Arizona and Texas.
Katherine is both a strong believer and contributor to Swaback Partners' and Studio V's treatment of clients as being our "co-creators". Katherine's skills and second only to spirit of passion that she brings to everything she touches. She extends what Swaback Partners has always committed to offer and we are most pleased to add her talents to our range of interior design services.
